This game was a superb start with a completely new set up. This was our first outing with alot of new players. Its allways difficult to gel as a team with unknown entities, but the game could not have turned out better.
Although things started badly. Within 5 minutes, we were 2-0 down and we literally could have collapsed.
However, we rallied, organised and settled down. Before long, we snatched a goal back after a great cross from Richie was met by a Reidy header. 2-1. And things only got better as just before half-time Richie hinself bagged a great goal, latching on to a rebounded shot.

This set things up for the second half in which Red Star dominated. Another headed goal by Reidy put us ahead and then Thomas got on the scoresheet with a superb run and shot.

Our fifth goal was sublime. A ball picked up by Michael Rouse found Richie down the left, who then hit a great ball into Reidy who grabbed his hat-trick following a cheeky finish.

With ten minutes left, Red Star took their eye off the ball annd Coddenham made it 5-3 . But straight from the kick-off Thomas struck the ball from almost 50 yards with surely the goal of the season.
A last gasp goal from Coddenham put the final score at 6-4 but it was always Red Stars day and it was a great performance.

It was our team spirit that really shone through and all signs point to a great season.
